- Are split sheets really free?
- Yes. Make as many as you need, send them for e-signature and keep them in your account. You need a free account with your email and a password. No credit card. The blank split sheet PDF is free too, and you don't need an account to download it.
- What's a split sheet?
- A short document that says who wrote the song, who owns the recording, and each person's share. Everyone signs it, so you have it in writing instead of from memory. (Educational info, not legal advice.)
- Do my co-writers pay or need an account?
- No. Only you need an account. Everyone you add with an email gets their own private signing link. They sign on a phone or computer by typing their name or drawing it. If someone is with you in person, you can hand them your device and use Sign in person. They never pay anything.
- What counts as one contract?
- One PDF you upload and send for signing, with everyone who needs to sign it. You can upload it and place the boxes for free, then pay when you send. Resending the email doesn't cost more. Any PDF you upload counts, even a split sheet, so build split sheets here to keep them free. Use a PDF without a password.
- Should I pay $5 or get Pro?
- If you send one of your own contracts now and then, pay $5 each. If you send 3 or more a month, Pro costs less: 3 contracts at $5 is $15, and Pro is $12/month. Pro yearly is $99, which is $45 less than 12 months at $12.
- Can I cancel Pro?
- Yes. Tap Manage billing at the bottom of this page, or email contact@blakewisner.com. Your signed documents stay in your account, and split sheets stay free. The $5 option is paid once per contract, so there's nothing to cancel.
- Is this legal advice?
- No. MusicContract helps you write down and sign what you agreed. It doesn't check what a contract says or whether it's fair, and it isn't legal advice. For complex deals, talk to an entertainment attorney.
- What if I'm under 18?
- A parent or guardian should take part in any agreement you make and handle any payment. Have them email contact@blakewisner.com before you make an account or buy anything. (General info, not legal advice.)
